Kratom Tea Recipes: Creative
Preparation
|
The Process
Anyone who
has made made this kratom brew for a long period of time has learned some of
these common factors that contribute to an enjoyable and potent drinking
experience.
Preparation
Making
kratom tea is quite simple. Historically, most have used their desired kratom
dose and let it steep in water for around 15-20 minutes, straining and
drinking. However, in modern times, adding water and kratom to a pot with 8-10
ounces of water and letting it steep for around 10 minutes at high-simmer/low
boil, and straining, is effective.
An
interesting way to ensure that alkaloids are fully absorbed from the plant
material is to add lemon juice, lime juice or even minuscule amounts of citric
acid during the extraction process. As students of chemistry know, reducing the
acidity of the water can increase the capacity for water to absorb these
alkaloids, similar to heat. This, in combination with our “Cafe Kratom” recipe
using fruit-flavorings can be a great way to ensure potency and reduce
bitterness.

Spicy
Kratom Pumpkin Soup
Delicious spicy kratom soup, probably the best kratom recipe
to mask its bitter flavor.
|
For the soup
- 1 mid-sized pumpkin
- 1 apple
- 1/3 mid-sized knob celery
- 3 tbsps. apple cider vinegar
(ACV)
- 2 onions
- 20 grams of kratom powder
- 4 cups of chicken broth
- 1 red chili
- 2 carrots
- 5 cloves of garlic
- 3 sprigs of fresh thyme
- Salt and pepper
- Olive oil
- 1/2 cup of cream
Soft apples
with thyme
- 2 apples, cut like boats
- 6 sprigs of fresh thyme
- 2 tbsps. of ACV
- 2 tbsps. of honey
- 1 tsp. of butter
Additional
soup accessories
- 8 pieces of serrano
- 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
- Sour cream
Instructions
- Wash and peel the knob celery,
carrots and onions and cut them up in cube shape. Wash the pumpkin and
apples, take off the seeds and cut them in cubes. Crack the chili open and
take away its seeds.
- In a soup pot, heat up the
olive oil and pour in all the veggies and kratom powder and sauté them for
a couple of minutes. Incorporate the chicken broth so that the water
pretty much covers all the greens. Add the thyme and allow it to simmer up
until the greens have become tender (it takes around 20-25 minutes).
- Bake the pumpkin seeds until
they become golden and are popping. You have the option to then add some
delicious sea salt over the seeds to enhance the flavor. Take them out and
put aside to cool down.
- Next add the butter to the
skillet in addition to the apples, honey, ACV and thyme. Sauté for a couple
of minutes on medium heat until the apples get tender but are a little
crunchy in the middle. Remove from the heat.
- Utilize the exact same skillet
to fry the serrano until in turns crunchy and golden.
- Use a mixer; I prefer using a
hand-held mixer in order to mix the soup into a velvety soft texture. Add
extra broth if the soup a bit too thick. Put in the ACV and sour cream.
Notes
- Sample the soup to see if it
requires any extra seasoning or maybe some chili powder or even more
thyme.
- Serve the soup using the
apples, seeds, sour cream and crunchy serrano (you can also sprinkle some
kratom powder on top) and bon appetite!

Kratom Tea
Eggnog Recipe
Ingredients
- 50 grams of crushed kratom
leaves
- 4 egg yolks
- 4 egg whites
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 1 tsp of grated nutmeg
- 1 pint of milk (whole)
- 1/3 cup of sugar
For the
kratom tea
- Take 50 grams of dry, crushed
kratom leaves and place them into a cooking pot, then add one liter of
water.
- Boil lightly and gently for 15
minutes approx.
- Strain the tea using a strainer
into a container and save the liquid. Squeeze the kratom leaves in the
strainer in order to get the majority of the liquid out.
- Put the kratom leaves back in
the cooking pot and pour in an additional liter of water and replicate
steps 2 and 3.
- When the kratom leaves have
already been strained again, they might be thrown away. Put the mix liquid
extracted from each of the boilings back into the cooking pot and boil
until the volume has decreased up to 100 ml.
For the
eggnog
- In the container of a blend,
mix the egg yolks until eventually they lighten in color. Slowly add the
1/3 cup of sugar and beat until it is entirely dissolved. Put aside.
- In a medium-size saucepan, over
a high heat, mix the whole milk, heavy cream and fresh nutmeg and bring to
a boil, stirring sporadically.
- Pull out from the heat and
slowly temper the warm mix into the egg and sugar mixture.
- Then return everything back to
the cooking pot and heat it till the mixture reaches 160 degrees F. Remove
it from the heat, mix in the kratom tea, dump it into a medium-size mixing
container, and place it in the fridge to cool down.
- In a medium-mixing container,
beat the egg whites to form delicate peaks. With the beater working add 1
tbs of sugar and beat until eventually you get rigid peaks. Beat the egg
whites into your cold mixture.
Notes
- This eggnog is the real deal:
raw eggs, heavy cream, and a little bit of sugar and pizzazz. It's
fabulous as-is, but might be spiked with rum, brandy, or bourbon to keep
at bay the cold season chill. It makes more sense the non-alcoholic
version, as we are incorporating the kratom tea, and kratom and alcohol
don’t mix well.
- Try not to use reduced fat
dairy products; this is definitely a holiday luxury, so enjoy it! You can
serve in tiny glasses if you’re concerned about the excessive calories, or
go to the gym the next day.
- Yes, we use raw eggs in this
recipe. For those who are concern, rinse out the shells prior to cracking
the eggs; there's merely a 1:20,000 possibility of salmonella contained
inside the egg.
